J. C. Smith and Mrs. Girtie Whitlow were united in marriage Tuesday afternoon at the courthouse, Judge W. E. Hunnicutt officiating.

The marriage occured within 30 minutes after the bride had secured a divorce in the district from her former husband Dan Whitlow.

The parties live in the eastern part of the county near Koose.
